For anybody who watched the movie and read "Steel Ball Run": do you see the comparison between the two Johnnys? Johnny sings about perseverance, Joestar remains strong through the mess of a race that happened. Both are somewhat disowned by their fathers until the last moment where they reconcile. Johnny does everything he can to be on stage, joestar does everything he can to get the Corps parts. They both cling to the little hope they have with friends, and rivals.
